Claremont School of Theology is a diverse educational ecology. Students and faculty cross religious, ethnic, national, sexual and ideological borders to join this unique community of teachers and learners, in one of the world’s most eclectic geographic regions. Claremont’s world-renowned faculty are innovative in their scholarship. And our students must be adventurous to prepare for a world that is always changing.
To better meet these needs, Claremont has created the ‘University Project’ to develop a multi-religious university alongside the existing Methodist-related School of Theology. This plan will increase efforts to bring more people together from many religious traditions and backgrounds to teach, learn, and be changed together. We call this ambitious and necessary plan the Claremont University Project.
The initial changes are already taking shape. New master’s degree concentrations are being offered, in areas such as Spiritual Formation, Urban Studies, and Spiritual Counseling. And students can personalize a program in cutting-edge areas like Community Organizing and Inter-religious Understanding. A new Ph.D. program is also offering concentrations in Ethics, Process Studies, Hebrew Bible and New Testament.
It’s an exciting time to be in Claremont. Learn more today, and help spread the word about this remarkable place.
