There is no limit to the number of guests a student may invite to the commencement ceremony. The ceremony is held outdoors, so dress appropriately.


Monday, May 18, 2015

10:30 a.m. Commencement Rehearsal will be held on the Chapel lawn. All graduates who intend to participate in commencement are expected to attend rehearsal.
11:30 a.m. Luncheon with Faculty. All graduates are invited to join the faculty and the President on the Haddon/Klein Patio for a luncheon immediately following the commencement rehearsal.
The following events are open to all graduates and their guests:
2:00 p.m. Baccalaureate. A service of thanksgiving will be held in Mudd Theater.

Commencement 2015 will take place at 9:00am on the Chapel lawn.
7:30 a.m. Robing of graduates, Mudd Theater lobby
8:00 a.m. Class picture, Mudd Theater south stairs
8:30 a.m. Procession line-up, south side of Library
9:00 a.m. Procession begins
10:30 a.m. Commencement Reception, Library Lawn. A reception for all graduates and their families will be held immediately following Commencement.
All rental regalia must be returned to Huntley Bookstore no later than May 22, 2015. Graduates who do not return their regalia will be charged the replacement cost of the regalia.

Cap and Gown Information for Students

All commencement ceremony participants are required to obtain their academic regalia through the Huntley Bookstore. The rental deadline is March 27th. The rental fee is $54.50 for Master’s and $62.13 for Doctoral. Students wishing to purchase regalia should contact the Huntley Bookstore staff (909-607-1503) by March 25th. If you purchase your hood or full regalia, you must bring the hood to the Office of the Registrar no later than May 15th .

All rental regalia must be returned to Huntley Bookstore no later than May 22nd, 2015. Graduates who do not return their regalia will be charged the replacement cost of the regalia.

Student Survey

Graduates are required to complete an Association of Theological Schools (ATS) Graduating Student Survey before commencement. Completion of this survey will give us vital information on the CST student experience. The survey can be accessed via the CST website (www.cst.edu/commencement). If you choose to take the survey anonymously, you must print the confirmation page of the ATS survey and submit it to the Office of the Registrar

Commencement Announcements

Announcements may be ordered through the Huntley Bookstore.


Only those students who have met all financial obligations and been cleared by the Business Office, have completed the Financial Aid exit counseling and the ATS Survey will receive their diploma at graduation. Students who do not complete all of these steps by Friday, May 15, will not receive their diploma at the commencement ceremony. If you miss the deadline, you will be able to pick up your diploma from the Office of the Registrar after you complete all the requirements.

If you do not participate in the commencement ceremony, your diploma will be sent (approximately one week following commencement) by certified mail to the address indicated on your Application for Graduation. Should your plans to participate in commencement change, please notify the Office of the Registrar at (909) 447-2502/2503.

Final Transcripts

Degrees will be posted on transcripts the week following graduation. Graduates can submit Transcript Request forms prior to graduation and have them processed after the degree has been posted.

Business Office Clearance

Your student account must be paid in full no later than Friday, May 15, 2015. This includes payment of all graduation, housing, and tuition fees, book cards and library fines.

Graduation Fee

All graduates are required to pay the graduation fee even if they are not participating in commencement. The fee is $90 for Master’s level students and $305 for Doctoral level, ($90 plus $215 for the processing and binding of the DMin project or PhD dissertation).

Financial Aid Clearance

All graduates are required by law to have an exit interview with the Financial Aid Office. Contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information and to schedule an appointment.

Parking will be available on campus. Signs will be posted directing visitors to the campus parking lots. Handicapped parking spaces are located on the east side of the Colwell building.

Commencement Seating

Guest seating begins at 8:00 a.m. on the day of commencement. Seating will be available on a first come first served basis. We do not reserve seats, however there is generally seating for everyone.

Special Needs

A drop-off and pick-up point designated for wheelchair accessible and mobility impaired is located on the east of the Colwell Building at the corner of College and Foothill (near the flag pole).

There will be plenty of accessible seating at the commencement ceremony. The commencement ceremony seats are white folding chairs which can be easily moved if necessary to make room for a wheelchair, walker or stroller. Restrooms will be open in the buildings surrounding the ceremony location.
