LIVING IN CLAREMONT

Claremont is located in the Los Angeles metropolis, which is the largest and most ethnically diverse region in the United States. Because of its size and location on the Pacific Rim, Los Angeles is home to people from many nations.

Why move to Southern California?

  • Los Angeles has the large populations of peoples outside their home countries (such as Koreans, Japanese, Chinese, Tawainese, Filipinos, Armenians, Pacific Islanders, etc.)
  • California has many religious communities with more opportunities for church leadership than many other cities.
  • Los Angeles is an international city on the Pacific Rim, with direct flights to most major cities of the Pacific.

Why live in the City of Claremont?

  • Claremont is known as the “City of Trees and PhDs.” It has a small-town atmosphere with the resources of a major city.
  • Claremont has top-scoring schools for children and teens. They are well-funded, and consistantly rank among the best in California.
  • Money Magazine named Claremont a “Top-5 Place to Live in America”.
  • The city of Claremont has a strong reputation as an international academic community, with five nationally-ranked liberal arts colleges and three graduate schools.

Why live on-campus at Claremont School of Theology?

  • The School has three apartment-style housing complexes with many different floor plans for families of all sizes.
  • Claremont's housing is an international community, with students from both Claremont School of Theology and Claremont Graduate University.
  • Campus housing is good for families, with several play grounds and BBQ grills.
  • Kresge Chapel, which is a short walk from housing, is open every morning for prayer and meditation.
