RESIDENT ASSISTANT POSITIONS
Applications for 2008-2009 Resident Assistantships are now being accepted.
Criteria for Application:
- Must live on campus or plan to move onto campus for duration of RA appointment
- Must be prepared to assist residents and the School resolve housing-related
issues and problems; maintain clean and safe stairwells, elevators and laundry
rooms; respond to after-hours calls; tend to grounds in their assigned housing
units; provide security walk-throughs and lock-ups as needed (full position
description available)
- Must be prepared to work an average of 15 hours/week in assigned housing
unit and/or in support of housing issues
- Must be students in good academic standing (to be validated by academic
records) and may not be on leave or probation during the course of their resident
assistantships; PhD continuous enrollment qualifies
- Must be students at Claremont School of Theology or one of the Claremont
Colleges
- First-year students not eligible to apply
Terms:
- 12-month positions (July 1 2008 - June 30 2009), contingent upon 6-month
written review and acceptable performance of RA duties
- Compensation: partial or total deferral of the monthly rental cost of a
CST apartment (up to a maximum per apt/per month value of $1350); no cash
compensation
- 6 positions are available for application; job-sharing by roommates or couples
will be considered
- Positions potentially renewable for a second year (because these criteria
are new, time in RA positions will be calculated beginning with 2008-09)
