Claremont School of Theology offers a variety of courses in a fully online or hybrid online format. In an online course, the course website serves as the classroom. Assignments, lecture notes, slide presentations, and other materials are made available to students via the Internet. Interaction between the instructor and the student and among students is achieved through email, discussion forums (not in real-time), or through chat rooms and teleconferencing (real-time). Course assignments are posted in the learning system (called Collaborate) and students are generally required to submit completed assignments to their professors through this learning system. A hybrid class combines some face-to-face instruction, usually in intensive sessions, with other sessions in the online classroom.
