Alumni/ae Travel: Spiritual Pilgrimage to the 'Thin' Places
CST Alumni/ae and friends are invited to join us for 14 days and 13 nights in Europe as we make a spiritual pilgrimage to the 'thin' places.
Our trip leader will be alumnus Thom Johnson '96, Adjunct Professor and Director of Lutheran Studies at CST. He has lead 12 spiritual journeys to Russia, Israel/Palestine, Egypt, Portugal, Spain and the British Isles. He will be offering lectures, spiritual nourishment, communion, daily mediations from famous Celtic writers and use of Taize style worship times throughout the trip.

Day 1: Arrive in Paris
Welcome to Paris! Paris probably has more familiar landmarks than any other city in the world! The Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral, Place de la Concorde - see all these sights and more with your Local Guide. This evening join your Travel Director for a Welcome Drink.
Day 2: Paris at Leisure
Your day is free to enjoy this magical city. You might like to shop for souvenirs and see more sights. Paris is home to a number of famous museums and galleries including the Louvre and the Musee d’Orsay. Consider browsing the Left Bank of take a cruise along the Seine and appreciate this beautiful city from a different perspective.
Day 3: Paris - Taize
After breakfast you are transferred to Taize for independent arrangements
Day 4 - 5: Taize
Day 6: Taize-Paris-London
Today you are transferred back to Paris where you will board the high-speed Eurostar across the English Channel to London.
Day 7: London at Leisure
Today use your hop on hop off sightseeing pass to explore all that London has to offer at your own pace.
Day 8: London - Stonehenge - Glastonbury-Bay
This morning visit the historic stone monoliths at Stonehenge where pagans once worshiped. Before arriving in Bath visit Glastonbury home to the legendary burial site of King Arthur. Continue to Bath and visit the Roman baths from which the city derives its name.
Day 9: Bath - Glasgow
Today enjoy the scenery and commentary provided by your Travel Director on your journey to Glasgow.
Day 10: Glasgow - Isle of Mull
This morning see the Cathedral on route to the Isle of Mull. Board your ferry in Oban to the Isle of Mull Hotel. Enjoy dinner in your hotel this evening.
Day 11: Isle of Mull
Today a group transfer is provided to and from the Ferry. Independent excursion to Iona.
Day 12: Isle of Mull - Glasgow
After breakfast return to Glasgow via Loch Lomond, immortalized in the well-known Scottish song. Visit Stirling Castle atop Castle Hill before arriving at your hotel
Day 13: Glasgow - London
Today we come full circle and return to London.
Day 14: Glasgow - London
A group transfer is provided to the London Heathrow airport.
