Major Ken Walden ’09 ’11 has been assigned by the Department of Defense to help provide Senior Leadership to the Chaplain Religious Enrichment Development Operation (CREDO) Wounded Warrior Program, at the Washington, D.C. location, effective September 30, 2013.
CREDO is a Chief of Navy Chaplains sponsored relationship enrichment program established in 1971, helping improve job performance and enhancing overall quality of life for active-duty service members and their families. CREDO retreats provide programs for personal growth, character development, team building, ethical leadership and workshops on marriage and family enrichment as well as spiritual growth.
Major Ken Walden’s responsibilities will include providing advisement pertaining to trauma, strategies related to stress, pastoral care and counseling, spiritual enrichment, family support, managing conflict, problem solving, and effective communication.
Rev. Dr. Ken Walden has taken a leave of absence as University Chaplain/ Assistant Professor of Philosophy & Religion at Claflin University. He also has a new book out entitled “Challenges Faced by Iraq War Reservists and Their Families.”

Angela Henderson ’10 has been selected as the next minister at the Universalist Unitarian Church of Riverside.
Joel Hortiales '08 is the new Associate Director of Hispanic/Latino Ministries for the UMC Cal Pac Conference.
Kaitlin Kevorkian '12 was selected as the UMC Cal-Pac Conference Field Coordinator of the Imagine No Malaria campaign.
Saúl Montiel ’07 is a United Methodist missionary at the U.S.-Mexico border serving those struggling to survive along the Tijuana River. Watch him in action in this video.
Joy Price ’04 was appointed as Senior Pastor of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Tarzana, CA.
Rob Rynders ’06 launched his City Square Church on September 8, 2013 in Phoenix. It was a great celebration that combined worship, communion, music, art and food. Follow his podcast.
