Bishop Carcaño Lead Immigration Vigil
Bishop Minerva Carcaño gave the meditation at a special Immigration Vigil on Sunday, February 10, 2013 in Kresge Chapel. Bishop Carcaño is a national religious leader on immigration reform, as well as the head of the California-Pacific Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.
In light of the renewed Congressional bipartisan effort to craft legislation that would repair the current broken immigration system, Claremont School of Theology and Claremont Lincoln University held a prayer vigil highlighting the critical importance of family reunification in whatever legislation emerges from Congress.
The service also included the showing of the short, but powerful video, Jasmine's Story, which highlights how the current broken system has torn apart too many families.
