Claremont School of Theology is pleased to announce that Rev. Rob Rynders (MDiv. 2006) has been selected as the 2012 Distinguished Alumnus.

Rob Rynders has taken the ASU Wesley Foundation from a small, part time ministry to a full time position of leadership. He has led students in expanding their social conscience with international as well as local mission trips. He also engages his students in opportunities within the UMC to expose them to possible vocations within the church. In 2011, he continued with the popular RelevenceX conference for young adults and brought major speakers—Tony Jones, Shane Claiborne—to his ministry. Perhaps most notable is his involvement in building a new meeting and residence facility for the Wesley Foundation that will be a part of the residence life options at ASU. In short, Rob has a vision for young United Methodists in and around Tempe, and he is effectively bringing that vision into reality.
