NewsHour covers CST’s collaboration with Jewish and Muslim partners to launch historic Claremont Lincoln University.

On September 6, 2011, the faculty, students, staff, and friends of Claremont School of Theology, Academy for Jewish Religion, California, and Islamic Center of Southern California gathered to celebrate the launch of Claremont Lincoln University, a historic new model to desegregate religious higher education.

We founded the new University to produce leaders equipped to build partnerships and coalitions across all boundaries - religious, secular, governmental, corporate, and non-profit – in order to improve and repair our shared society, environment, and world. As the Christian member of the new Consortium, CST was also motivated by the desire to take seriously Christ’s admonition to be peacemakers, and to treat our neighbors the way we would like them to treat us, as well as to prepare our students to function in a religiously pluralistic culture.

PBS NewsHour covered the momentous occasion.
