January 1 -- FAFSA becomes available to students
March 1 -- FAFSA priority deadline for all students
March 15 -- FAFSA should be in "have filed" or "will file" for all students (incoming/new) interested in financial aid or scholarships for the next school year
April 15 -- FAFSA should be in "have filed" or "will file" for all students (incoming/new) interested in financial aid for the next school year
May 1 -- Final deadline for all incoming and new students interested in financial aid for the next school year

2012-2013 Academic Year FAFSA Information
You may choose any of these three methods to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):
- Complete your FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov (recommended).
- Complete a PDF FAFSA (Note: PDF FAFSAs must be mailed for processing)
- Request a paper FAFSA by calling us at 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243) or 319-337-5665. If you are hearing impaired, please contact the TTY line at 1-800-730-8913.

For the best chance for most aid, complete the FAFSA before March 2. We strongly recommend getting your income taxes completed early and submit the FAFSA as soon as you can after January 1, 2012.
