Master of Divinity (M.Div.)
The Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree at Claremont is unique in its focus on ministry in the religious and cultural diversity of the 21st century. It allows students to grow deeper in their Christian faith and personal formation while learning about -- and from -- leaders from other religious traditions in a shared global context. The program strives to integrate theoretical perspectives and practical skills to prepare leaders for vocations in a variety of real-world ministry contexts.
Students take courses in a several areas, which prepare students for the needs of 21st century ministry. These areas include:
- Spiritual and Vocational Formation
- Christian Theological Studies
- Interreligious Studies
- Integrative/Practical Studies (including Field Education)
- Electives for Exploration

OPTIONAL CONCENTRATIONS
Students can choose to focus their studies in one of four special concentrations:
- Chaplaincy
- Interreligious Studies
- Leadership in Social Justice Community Organizations
- Spiritual Formation for Engaged Compassion
Students can also combine the M.Div. with other degree programs:
