Center for Lutheran Studies
In 2009, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and The United Methodist Church (UMC) entered into a relationship of Full Communion with each other. In this spirit, Claremont School of Theology, a Methodist-affiliated theological school, accepted an invitation to establish the Center for Lutheran Studies at Claremont.
The Center for Lutheran Studies at Claremont, established in 2010, provides Lutheran resources for all students and supports Lutheran students in particular. Courses and events related to Lutheran heritage and theology are also possible. The Center is also strengthening the Lutheran presence at the School and build relationships with local Synod bodies and education institutions (e.g. California Lutheran University and Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary).
