"Founders' Day is a wonderful time for graduates and friends of Claremont to come together each year to be inspired toward creative leadership and ministry," says Rev. Bronnie McNabb, vice-president of development for the School. "Pastor Dotson will no doubt provide a spark to inspire new ways of 'being church' in our changing world."

Ordained in 1992, Pastor Dotson started Genesis UMC in the Silicon Valley in 1997, which drew on the "start-up" culture of its local context to become an innovative model for a diverse worship and service. The ministry, which grew to nearly 400 members in five years, was featured in The San Jose Mercury News, The San Francisco Examiner, and The Sacramento Bee.

Pastor Dotson previously spoke in Southern California on the topic of leadership development at the United Methodist School for Congregational Development held at in San Diego.
