Interfaith Addictions Conference

This one-day conference at Claremont School of Theology will examine pressing issues of addictions and spirituality with professionals and academics in the field of psychology, psychiatry, pastoral care, and spirituality.

SCHEDULE

9 a.m. Registration (includes two meals and refreshments)

9:30 a.m. Panel Discussion: "What Is Addiction?"

"Addiction as a Brain Disease" (Dr. Koek, UCLA psychiatrist)

12:30 - 1:15 p.m. Lunch & small group networking

1:15 - 2 p.m. "Spiritual Paths to Recovery" (Brad Long, chaplain)

2 -3:15 p.m. "Mercy Street: Making an Addiction Ministry Work"
(Ms. Suzanne Jones, Chapelwood United Methodist Church, Houston)

3:30 - 4 p.m. Clergy & Lay Support Groups

4:15 - 5:15 p.m. "Guiding the Alcoholic/Addict to Help: 12-Steppers & Professionals

5:15 - 6:30 p.m. Dinner and "Spirituality vs. Religion?" Dialogue with faculty & audience

6:30 - 7 p.m. Closing Remarks & Questions: Future Plans


Registration: $75.00 (includes two meals and materials), payable by cash or check to "Interfaith Addictions Conference." Mail to Business Office, Claremont School of Theology, 1325 N. College Avenue, Claremont, CA 91711.

Students free. Attend when you can, leave when you must.
