Claremont Celebrates Graduation and Awards

The weather was pleasantly mild on Saturday morning, as nearly 70 candidates for graduation gathered with their families and friends on campus for the 2007 Commencement Ceremony at Claremont School of Theology. (Over 80 students graduated in total, though several were unable to travel to Claremont to participate in the ceremony.)

“This is the largest graduating class in the School’s recent history,” said Jerry D. Campbell, president of the School. “These students—these alumni and alumnae, rather—represent the best and brightest in theological education. They are no doubt going on to relevant work to bring peace and justice to our world.”

The ceremony, which began at 8:30 a.m. in order to “beat the heat,” featured the Claremont Community Choir as well as greetings from Mary Ann Swenson, bishop of The California-Pacific Annual conference of The United Methodist Church.
