As fires rage across Southern California, I hear the psalmist proclaiming, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in time of trouble.”

God is indeed our refuge, but the work of compassion is ours to do: now is the time to step up and “Be the Church!”

- Bishop Mary Ann Swenson, of the
California-Pacific Conference of
The United Methodist Church

A hymn entitled
"O God of Mighty Wind and Flame"
was written this week by a Presbyterian clergywoman who made freely available for religious communities responding to the fire disaster is Southern California.

Wildfire Relief

The students, staff and faculty of Claremont School of Theology are mindful of the nearly 500,000 Californians who have been displaced from their homes by the recent wildfires. The disasters are also impacting members of our own community, and we are faithfully seeking ways to meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

If you are part of an organization in need of volunteers, please forward information to the Office of Communication at publicrelations @ cst.edu [remove spaces] and it will be forwarded to our community.

Also, if you have an online resource you want added to the list below, please forward it to the email address above.
